Objective
To examine the efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) through a meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis (TSA).
Conclusions
Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) was effective in relieving irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms but caused a higher adverse event rate than placebo.
