Privacy Notice
Last updated 20 September 2026
This notice is for visitors and staff using the Chinese Medicine Research Hub at research.pingminghealth.com. It is published by Ping Ming Health in Australia.
It does not replace the Ping Ming Health Privacy Policy for clinic patients and health records. Cookie details are in the Cookie Policy.
Who we are
Ping Ming Health is the controller for this website. Contact clinic@pingminghealth.com.
What we collect
- Use of the site. Our host, Vercel, records technical logs such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL in order to operate and secure the service.
- Optional analytics. Only if you accept Analytics cookies: page views and related usage data via Google Analytics 4.
- Optional charts. Only if you accept Functional cookies: the About page may call Google Charts.
- Staff accounts. Moderators who sign in through the clinic system have a session cookie so they can edit topics and articles. Staff details stay in the clinic system.
- Registration form. If you ask for Hub access on the About page, we receive the name, email, and organisation you enter.
- Submitted articles. If you submit a paper, we store the bibliographic details you provide so moderators can review them.
The Hub publishes scientific literature and related commentary. Those pages are not a patient record and should not be used as personal medical advice.
Why we use it
We process this information to:
- provide and secure the Research Hub (legitimate interests / to perform the service);
- remember and honour your cookie choice (legal obligation and your consent);
- measure use of the Hub if you consent to Analytics;
- run staff moderation if you are a signed-in clinician;
- respond to access requests and registrations.
Who we share it with
Processors who help us run the Hub include Vercel (hosting), and, only after optional consent, Google (Analytics and Charts). Research content is stored in our research database. We do not sell personal information and we do not use Research Hub data for advertising.
Some processors are outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we rely on consent for Google tags, you can withdraw it in Cookie settings. Transfers are otherwise limited to what is needed to host a public website.
How long we keep it
- Cookie choices: 12 months, or until you change them.
- Server logs: the host’s normal retention for security and operations.
- Analytics: Google’s retention for the property, if you consented.
- Staff sessions: while the clinic session remains valid.
- Submitted research and published Hub pages: while they remain part of the collection.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal information, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a regulator (including the OAIC in Australia, and a European or UK supervisory authority). California and other US state residents may request access, deletion, and correction, and may opt out of sale or sharing.
To use these rights, email clinic@pingminghealth.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
Do not sell or share my personal information
We do not sell Research Hub personal information. Optional analytics or chart scripts can share technical data with Google if you opt in. To opt out:
- and reject optional cookies;
- enable Global Privacy Control in your browser — we treat that as an opt-out; or
- email clinic@pingminghealth.com.
Children
The Hub is for health professionals and students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for this site.
Changes
If this notice changes in a material way we will update the date above. Cookie category changes will prompt a new consent choice.
