Objective
The aim of this study is to develop a rapid, specific and sensitive ultra high performance liquid chromatography–triple quadrupole tandem mass method to simultaneously quantify chrysophanol and physcion in rat plasma, in order to better understand the pharmacokinetics and compatibility mechanism of Dahuang Fuzi Decoction for the first time.
Conclusions
Pharmacokinetic parameters showed significant difference between the two groups. The achieved comparative pharmacokinetic results were helpful to clarify the combination mechanism of Dahuang Fuzi Decoction.
Critical Appraisal
Published research can offer valuable insights, but a paper’s conclusions may go beyond what its results support. Critical appraisal examines the methods, findings and limitations to clarify what can reasonably be concluded—and what remains uncertain.
