Objective
To investigate the potential adverse effects of peppermint and its main constituents on health.
Conclusions
The study concludes that peppermint and its main constituents, while not possessing major innate mutagenic, genotoxic, or embryotoxic properties, are moderately toxic, and caution is advised in individuals with bile duct obstruction, gall bladder inflammation, gastrointestinal reflux, or hiatus hernia.
