DOI 10.62347/BXJH3187
Objective
To investigate the effects of Hegu acupuncture induced by lifting-thrusting and Shaoshanhuo stimulation techniques in healthy females using shear wave elastography and related physiological and quality-of-life measures.
Conclusions
The two acupuncture stimulation methods differ in acupuncture sensation and de-qi spread but show similar temporal patterns in their effects on muscle and fascia stiffness, first dorsal metacarpal artery hemodynamics, and quality of life, while their integrated effects differ significantly.
Critical Appraisal
Published research can offer valuable insights, but a paper’s conclusions may go beyond what its results support. Critical appraisal examines the methods, findings and limitations to clarify what can reasonably be concluded—and what remains uncertain.
