Personalised low-frequency electrical stimulation guided by heat imaging and electrical assessment improved erectile function, mood, anxiety, and erection firmness without reported harm.
The study enrolled men with erectile dysfunction and assigned them to either active treatment or sham therapy. Clinicians used infrared heat imaging and an intelligent electrical diagnostic system to identify abnormal meridian pathways, then delivered skin-applied low-frequency electrical stimulation during repeated treatment sessions. Erectile function, erection firmness, depressive symptoms, and anxiety symptoms were assessed before and after treatment using validated questionnaires and a firmness rating scale. Participants initially receiving sham therapy later received the active treatment protocol.
Active stimulation improved erectile function and erection firmness while reducing depressive and anxiety symptoms, whereas sham therapy produced no reported improvement. Participants who crossed from sham therapy to active treatment subsequently showed similar improvements across these outcomes. No treatment-related penile discomfort, pain, injury, or deformity was reported.
