Insights
Acupuncture might be a promising alternative treatment for relieving symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia, according to the significant improvement in a patient's urinary status.
The methodology used involved treating a ninety-year-old male patient who came to the acupuncture clinic, suffering from urinary tract occlusion due to benign prostatic hyperplasia. The electroacupuncture treatment protocol of Professor Zhanglian Wang, a renowned practitioner of Chinese medicine, was followed in administering the acupuncture.
The results following six weeks of acupuncture treatment showed a substantial improvement in the patient's urinary status. His condition prior to the treatment was marked by symptoms of frequent urination and urination difficulties. The significant enhancement of the patient's condition post-treatment reinforces the pressing premise that acupuncture might indeed serve as an effective alternative complementary therapy for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
