Cang-Er-Zi-San appeared to improve allergic rhinitis symptoms in children more effectively and safely than conventional treatments.
Researchers systematically searched seven medical databases for randomized controlled trials comparing Cang-Er-Zi-San with conventional treatments for childhood allergic rhinitis. They selected eligible studies using predefined criteria, assessed study quality with a standard bias-assessment tool, extracted outcome data, and combined results for treatment effectiveness, symptom-relief time, recurrence, and adverse events.
Across the included trials, Cang-Er-Zi-San showed better overall treatment effectiveness than comparison therapies, with faster symptom relief, fewer recurrences, and fewer adverse events. The findings suggest that this herbal formula may offer a beneficial treatment option for children with allergic rhinitis.
