A combined regimen of acupuncture, supplements, and mindfulness substantially relieved persistent premenstrual symptoms after conventional treatments had provided little benefit.
A case report followed a woman with longstanding premenstrual syndrome whose previous hormonal and anti-inflammatory treatments had minimally helped. She received traditional Chinese medicine-style acupuncture alongside coenzyme Q10, a vitamin B complex, magnesium citrate, flaxseed oil, and turmeric, with increased supplement use before menstruation. She was also encouraged to practise mindfulness meditation twice daily to manage stress.
Following the combined treatment programme, her premenstrual symptom burden declined markedly and remained low for many months. Improvements included reduced menstrual-related pain, stiffness, bloating, swelling, breast discomfort, weight changes, and feelings of stress and overwhelm.
