Anweiyang capsule and Pinellia Heart-Draining Decoction improves Helicobacter pylori eradication, ulcer healing rate, and traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes in peptic ulcer patients, with a lower risk of adverse reactions.
The study randomly divvied up 100 patients suffering from peptic ulcers into two groups: an observation group and a control group. The observation group, consisting of 50 patients, were administered with a blend of Anweiyang capsule and Pinellia Heart-Draining Decoction, two herbal treatments. The other 50 patients, comprising the control group, were subjected to standard Western medical treatment.
After a period of four weeks, both treatment groups showed a decrease in serum procalcitonin and C-reactive protein levels, alongside an increase in prostaglandin E2 levels. However, the observation group, those treated with the herbal combination, showed budding signs of improvement. The observation group achieved a considerably higher rate of Helicobacter pylori eradication, alongside an increased healing rate for ulcers. Similarly, this group also portrayed a greater improvement in symptoms related to traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes. Despite these positive results, the rate of adverse reactions remained significantly lower in the observation group compared to the control counterpart.
