Acupuncture versus placebo acupuncture for in vitro fertilisation: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Traditional acupuncture administered around the time of embryo transfer does not result in better IVF outcomes for live birth, clinical and ongoing pregnancy, nor does it reduce the chance of miscarriage, compared to placebo acupuncture. As placebo acupuncture does not appear to be a true placebo, comparative effectiveness trials may be a more suitable design to determine a potential role for acupuncture.
