Antiinflammatory, antimicrobial, and allelopathic activities of some cucurbit seed oils

Cucurbit seed oils have been reported to exhibit beneficial antimicrobial and allelopathic effects, supported by empirical data from clinical trials in humans. While some claims are rooted in folklore and preliminary data, the high nutritional value of cucurbit seed oils suggests their suitability for human health needs. This chapter aims to summarize the existing literature on the inflammatory, antimicrobial, and allelopathic activities associated with different types of cucurbit seed oils.
