Acupuncture for acute gastrointestinal injury: A systematic review and meta-analysis 针灸治疗急性胃肠损伤的系统评价和Meta 分析
2022 Oct World Journal of Acupuncture-Moxibustion CHEN(陈晓桐) X, YANG(杨艳) Y, QIAN(钱义明) Y, HOU(侯瑜超) Y, XIE(谢静) J, LI(李琪) Q, et al.
The meta-analysis of 15 included randomized controlled trials, involving 1316 patients, demonstrated that acupuncture treatment for AGI in critically ill patients resulted in statistically significant improvements compared to routine treatment in various parameters, including the Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE II) score, gastrointestinal dysfunction score, intra-abdominal pressure, intensive care unit (ICU) length of stay, and 28-day fatality rate. The limited available evidence suggests that acupuncture may relieve clinical symptoms and improve the prognosis in critically ill patients with AGI, making it a potential therapeutic option. The study recommends the inclusion of acupuncture in the regimen for AGI in critically ill patients and encourages further high-quality and multi-central trials for validation.
