Uncovering the pharmacological mechanism of motherwort (Leonurus japonicus Houtt.) for treating menstrual disorders: A systems pharmacology approach
2020 Dec Computational Biology and Chemistry Wang C, Lv X, Liu W, Liu S, Sun Z
Most of the bioactive components in motherwort had good binding ability with these genes, implying that motherwort could regulate their biological function. Collectively, this study elucidated the molecular mechanisms that underlay the efficiency of motherwort against MDs and demonstrated the potential of network pharmacology as an approach to uncover the action mechanism of herbal medicines.
Network Pharmacology Yi Mu Cao Menstrual Disorder The prescription patterns of traditional Chinese medicine for women with polycystic ovary syndrome in Taiwan
2019 Jun Medicine Lin MJ, Chen HW, Liu PH, Cheng WJ, Kuo SL, Kao MC
Our study identified the characteristics and prescription patterns of TCM for patients with PCOS in Taiwan. We may need do further longitudinal research for TCM and its long-term response for improvement of pregnancy rate and reduction of metabolic disease rate.
PCOS Jia Wei Xiao Yao San Yi Mu Cao Leonurus japonicus Houtt.: Ethnopharmacology, phytochemistry and pharmacology of an important traditional Chinese medicine
2014 Feb Journal of Ethnopharmacology Shang X, Pan H, Wang X, He H, Li M
Modern pharmacological studies have demonstrated that Leonurus japonicus has marked bioactivities, especially on the uterus and as a cardioprotective agent. These activities are related to its traditional use and provide prospects for the development of novel drugs, therapeutics and health care products for women. However, the toxicity of Leonurus japonicus will require further study, and the nomenclature for Leonurus japonicus will require additional clarification.
