Network Pharmacology Blood StasisPerception of metabolic diseases related to blood stasis: A survey of Korean medicine doctors
2020 Apr European Journal of Integrative Medicine Jang S, Ko MM, Kang BK, Jung J
A significant majority (92.1%) of participating TKM doctors believed that metabolic diseases were highly associated with or caused by blood stasis. Vascular disease was most frequently reported to be associated with blood stasis. Over three quarters of respondents believed that herbal medicine combined with conventional medication was effective in managing blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood lipids. The perceived higher cost compared to conventional drugs was identified as a barrier to the use of Korean medicine for treating metabolic diseases. The study suggests a need for further research, especially clinical studies, to better understand the association between blood stasis and metabolic diseases.
